How do I know if I have a hearing loss?
Do you….
Frequently ask people to repeat themselves?
Often feel tired or stressed during conversations?
Turn up the volume on your TV or radio so that others complain?
Have difficulty understanding conversation, especially in noisy places?
Avoid social situations?
Find yourself denying that you have a hearing problem, particularly to your spouse or partner?
Often miss hearing the digital watch, mobile phone, or the trafficators in the car?

Everyone experiences these problems occasionally. However, if you experience them consistently,
you probably have a hearing loss. Don't despair. You are in good company. At least 3 million
Australians have some degree of hearing loss, and around one-half are under the age of 65 years!
Usually the process of hearing loss is so gradual that the person with the hearing loss does not
notice the decline ---- but others do. Much can be done to help you hear better, and to prevent
further deterioration. An audiologist is the best person to discuss these matters with you.
